MOVIE: "COUNTRY STRONG" a.k.a."LOVE DON'T LET ME DOWN" (December 2010)

Like an old Buck Ownens song "They're gonna put me in the movies" is just what Brenda Best is singing. A new Hollywood movie (Sony) filmed in Nashville titled "Love Don't Let Me Down" (new TITLE is: COUNTRY STRONG") starring Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow and country music superstar Tim McGraw. Brenda Best plays a small part as a rehab patient for the film. Being part of another movie is always a thrill for BB. She's been in just a handful of music videos and another Hollywood production titled "The Second Chance" back in 2006. Even though Best has never had any hang-ups with booze and drugs, she got a chance to look the part of that character in the movie to be released in theaters in December 2010. The main characters are Tim McGraw who plays Gwyneth Paltrow's husband and music manager . Gwyneth plays a struggling country music artist reaching the superstar status, also spending time as a Rehab Patient. The Rehab Center location was filmed at Barbara Mandrell's former home, Fontanel, now belongs to Country Star John Rich's. Brenda Best also plays a cheering fan in the film at a country concert looking a bit more country chic.

LTCC's ANNUAL CONVENTION PARTY with MUSICAL GUEST: BB & THE BULLETS

NASHVILLE NIGHTLIFE SURVIVED FLOOD

May 1st & 2nd were two days Nashville residents will remember forever. Tornadoes, Flash Floods, non-stop Rain all over the city of Nashville and surrounding cities has definitely devastated many people's lives including the music business. All around The Opryland Hotel and Oprymills Mall which is just one mile from The Nashville Nightlife Theater, shows at the Nightlife Theater are not affected. We are thankful that we've been spared from this disasterous weekend. EARTH DAY CELEBRATION at BEST's HOUSE

Nashville singer/songwriter Brenda Best was busy as a "Bee" planting her garden in a hurry, a day before rough weather put a damper on Earth Day Celebrations. To help support local growers, she purchased tomato plants from St. Clair Senior Center in Middle Tennessee at their fund raiser plant sale. Her backyard garden measures 25' x 12' that she named "MySpace". Since purchasing her 1 acre property three years ago, she's been good to the earth by composting and growing her vegetable garden, sunflowers, grapes, and a huge butterfly bush. Her backyard is a Wildlife Habitat certified by The National Wildlife Federation. Recycling was a group effort when friends gathered at BB's home to participate in loading a 1/2 ton truck full of glass & plastics collected by neighbors to be taken to the local recycling depot.

BB "Rocked & Popped" the BULL & WHISTLE

Versatility is the key to making money & surviving in the music business. After reviewing and renewing her song list, BB decided to put on a new image & a new song list. Her show at the Bull & Whistle showed a different side of Brenda Best. "If anyone can reinvent herself, it's Brenda Best" says Caroline McLain, who is one of BB's long-time fans. "She can play just about anything on her guitar". Her acoustic performance of Lady Gaga's "Telephone" and Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now" are just a few new ones.(click here to see - PHOTO).

SUCCESSFUL SHOW at ALABAMA OPRY (APRIL 3)

Brenda Best performed for a big crowd at The Alabama Opry in Athens Alabama on April 3rd. Headlining the show was Stella Parton & Razzy Bailey. Brenda performed eight songs from the two CDs she has available in which she autographed copies after the show. Some fan favorites that night were Golden Years, The Story of My Life, and Eminent Domain, a song about the old house that she grew up in, and now torn down in her home town. During intermission, Brenda and Fans visited at the souvenir table for an entire evening. "The people I met in Alabama have such a charm and warmth about them. It was not easy leaving at the end of the night" Brenda says. Thanks to everyone who came out to the show. Many thanks to George Hill, owner of the Alabama Opry, for inviting Brenda to be part of this wonderful evening. Other entertainers were Little Happy Dickens, Alaina Wiley, and Cousin Sadie.

GROUPE VOYAGEUR QUEBEC (May 23)

May 23, 2010: The day started when Brenda Best escorted a French speaking group from Quebec Canada aboard their motorcoach to see the sights around Nashville. When the group found out that Brenda Best is a professional entertainer and part of the weekly live show at The Nashville Nightlife Dinner Theater, reservations were quickly made for everyone to have dinner and see BB in concert.
